1. Why do you think Phyllis Schlafly put the word "education" in quotes in her article? Is this "education" or "indoctrination?"

2. What do you think the role of taxpayer-funded schools should be in the United States of America?

3. Do you agree or disagree with the idea of using taxpayer-funded schools to teach children to support a particular political philosophy? If a president was funding a program to teach children about the virtues of free-market economics, would you support it?

4. Though funds are not directly given to "Organizing for America," how are taxpayer dollars indirectly funding this indoctrination?

5. If the purpose of "Organizing for America" is to "build community," why are they weeding out the Republicans?

6. Do you think teachers should encourage students to participate in the Organizing for America internship program?

Use Phyllis Schlafly's Column "Global Warming is Frozen Over" and the links below to answer the following quesitons.

Backround:

1. Why did 20,000 delegates meet in Copenhagen to discuss "climate change"? What is the Kyoto Protocol?

2. What is "Climategate"?

3. Why would Climate Research Unit try to suppress information concerning global weather patterns?

4. Why would Czech Republic President Vaclav Klaus call the theory of global warming a "religion"?

5. What main assumption are global-warming supporters making?

6. Does the U.S. Constitution give the federal government power to regulate emissions? If so, which Article and Clause give Congress authorization?

What's your opinion:

1. Should America sign onto a treaty with other nations to try to lower emissions?

2. Obama is on record as promising that U.S. emissions in 2050 will be reduced to our 1910 level of emissions, when we had a population of 92 million. How would this be possible?

3. Would you be willing to lower your standard-of-living in order to meet regulatory emissions standards?

4. Even if one concedes that global-warming is occurring, do you think a global treaty requiring nations to lower total emissions would be an effective solution? Why or why not?

5. Is it possible to find middle-ground on the debate concerning global warming? What would the compromise be?

"Soaring To New Heights" Utah Teen Eagle Conference 2009

Our Utah Teen Eagles learned how to spread their wings and soar to new heights as we learned how to trust each other and work as a team. Our teens learned a whole new meaning of "heights" as they did high ropes course challenges 40 ft. off of the ground!

We also had the honor of listening to two amazing guest speakers Utah Representative Greg Hughes and Cherilyn Eagar Republican candidate for the United States Senate! It was an inspiring experience to hear how these two incredible people have soared to new heights as they have explored the world of government!

Representative Greg Hughes enlightened our minds as we explored the possibilities in education. Our teens became very involved in the discussion as they expressed their views on education!

Cherilyn Eagar also opened our eyes to new possibilities in the United States Senate as she told us of her plans of action! We hope many of our teens will volunteer to support her in her campaign! For information about Cherilyn Eagar and her progress please visit www.eagarforsenate.com!

To close our conference we had a mock city council where our teens practiced speaking up and being heard in their communities! Each of our teens reasoned the purpose of government in their community and then voiced their opinion!

We handed out copies of The Constitution and Declaration of Independence and asked our teens to take the pledge to read through these founding documents and really take them to heart!

Even if you set your goals this high, what do you have to do to reach them? One partial answer if you're of school age: Don't go to public school.

Teen Eagle National Merit Semifinalist

Jessica Muller, a Teen Eagle member in Alabama, has become a Semi-finalist in the National Merit Scholarship program, a highly competitive scholarship program for academically gifted students. We congratulate Jessica on her achievements and look forward to helping others like her reach their potential.

Texas Teen Eagles have Teen Track event

This triathlon doesn't use the traditional three activities (running, cycling and swimming), but instead has a bit more unusual event areas:

Academics: Courses and shorter studies that relate to the Constitution and the Worldview/Culture war in which the Constitution is a central battleground.
Articulation: The presentations of persuasive speeches and moot court argumentation focusing on the hot issues, court decisions, etc.
Activism: Projects in which students put into action the knowledge and skills they have acquired with emphasis on "teens teaching teens."

Participants came to Plano, TX from a wide ares ranging from San Antonio to Southern Oklahoma to participate in moot court presentations, give skits explaining landmark court decisions, judge events involving audience participation and a multitude of other duties necessary to conducting a large two-day event for teens. Eagle Forum gives a big thanks to AnnaGrace Sloan, Dr. Virginia Armstrong and the Blackstone Institute for doing their part to raise young patriots.
